Writer's Block: Nature or nurture

Do you think your moods are controlled by your brain chemistry or that your brain chemistry dictates your moods? Do you believe people are born with particular emotional temperaments or that they are primarily shaped by environmental factors?

Emotional temperaments are primarily a result of environmental factors. A person does not simply wake up in a "bad mood." Several environmental factors put that person in that mood. Whether it be waking up late, the weather, or maybe even various obligations that day that the person is not particularly fond of tending to. A person is not happy simply because. He can be happy for many reasons- from getting a good grade on an exam to getting a new laptop.

^^ This question sounds like an SAT Writing Prompt.

...speaking of...I got my grades on the SAT Subject Tests:
-US History: 720
-Math Level 1: 650
-Math Level 2: 630

SAT Reasoning Test next Saturday >< I'm aiming for a 2000. I keep getting in the high 1900s on the practice tests so I'm hoping...

This morning I went to the Little Theatre during my lunch period to use the computer, since some teacher kicked me out of the library because it was "reserved for her class." However, I didn't except to see Mr. Sig sitting there on his laptop because he's usually in his office that period. So I got tied into a conversation with him about film and then he started talking to me about college and whatnot. Telling him that I'm number 15 in the class was a big mistake. His response: "Oh you better be inviting me to the top 20 breakfast. Luis I will be so mad if you don't invite me." I was going to ask Ms. Dipaola =O

To be honest, I'm not really happy with my first essay. I was taking a nap before, and I got another idea for a topic. I wasn't going to go with it at first, but then I figured "what the hell?" and wrote it. The conclusion isn't complete and it stills needs some work, but I'd really appreciate it if you guys would let me know what you think. 143.

These streets will make you feel brand new

I finished writing a rough draft for my college essay. It started out as something completely different from what it is now. I wrote four college essays before I could decide which one I would expand on. My first one was about how I have no idea what to write for this essay (lame? Yeah). My second essay was about the impact Adrian Monk has had on my life (lame, but humorous if I do say so myself). My third essay, which I decided to go with was originally about how I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I wrote about how my career choices change quite frequently. With many revisions, and the help of Sarah, my essay is now about how I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, and now I'm decided (that's how it sounds in simple terms, trust me, the actual essay sounds much better, especially because I added details about my lovely job). My fourth essay didn't get very far, but it was simply a statement about my view of creative outlets.

I really want to get accepted to New Paltz and Binghamton. Cornell would be nice, but I really can't afford it, same with NYU. We'll know soon enough I suppose..

School already?!

I feel like I've been in school for a month. What possessed me to take 5 AP classes is beyond me, but I'm not regretting it as much as I thought I did (except I only have a quarter year of lunch instead of half). Anyhow, for the most part I like my classes. Here's my schedule:

1. AP Calculus w/ Mr. Duffy
2. Economics w/ Mr. Farris (an essay on the first day? really?) / gym & study hall
3. Theatre IV ><
4. AP Government
5. AP Bio
6. AP Bio/ Gym w/ Mr. Manning ><!!
7. AP Italian!! Woot!
8. AP Lit

I feel like everything this year is going to happen so fast. Before school started, I was hoping this year would go by slow being it's the last year of HS and all..but now I just want to get it over with.

There has been so much going on lately, so many thoughts running through my head. I can already tell that this year is going to be extremely busy, but I'm honestly looking forward to it. I just have a really good feeling about everything.

Writer's Block: On the Airwaves

If you had your own radio or television station, what would it be called and what kind of programming would it play?

I can see myself having a very successful radio station in the future. Today, Emily and myself were listening to 92.3 Now FM. The guy on the radio said to call if you we wanted to be on the radio and be the DJ for a minute. So I called. " YOU'RE LISTENING TO 92.3! MY NAME IS LOU FROM WEST BABYLON, NY. ALL MY LIFE I WANTED TO BE A DJ! THANK YOU 92.3 FOR LETTING ME LIVE MY DREAM!"  The guy started cracking up and the next thing I know, I hear myself on the radio XD

I'm glad I got to see Lindsay before she goes back to New Paltz. I'm going to miss her a lot =(

Freshmen Orientation is all of next week >< Which means I have to take off from work and most likely do some work from home.

Binghamton and Pre-VA

I'm leaving for VA tomorrow morning XD I love long car rides. My family is probably going to go to the water park on Sunday but because the towne house we're staying in has an outside pool, inside pool, hot tub, and gym...I think I'm going to opt to stay home =)

Eeek...I still haven't finished packing..

So I went to visit Binghamton University on Wednesday. We were an hour late for the tour and we left early..but I absolutely loved it! Because we went over the summer, it was pretty deserted..but it had a nice laid-back atmosphere, the buildings were organized and updated, and they had a lot of neat things to offer such as free copies of computer programs, free computer repairs and free Wi-Fi in almost every building.

I'm online checking out the towne house I'm staying at when I go to Williamsburg next month. I must say, it's pretty awesome. There's a complete exercise room, spa, massage service, sauna, and a jacuzzi/ hot tub. Niceeeee.

Worked a half day today...then rode my back to the gym. However, when I left to gym and got on my bike to leave...I discovered I had a flat tire. Stranded =/
